Join us for an evening of Middle Eastern enchantment as Michigan-based premier bellydance artist Gemhara Almaz and her guest dancers Kristen and Nan of Karma Bellydance take the stage with the Dave Sharp Worlds Quartet! Our evening together begins with the dance pre-show at 7:30pm followed by an exciting performance blending the enchanting music and dance of the Middle East with world music-inspired original compositions. Experience the fusion of rhythms, sounds, and textures from across the globe, all fueled by the spirit of jazz, world music, and dynamic improvisation. With a lineup featuring oud, violin, electric bass, synthesizer, and world percussion, the Worlds Quartet, led by bassist and composer Dave Sharp, explores music traditions from Turkey, Egypt, Ukraine, India, Bulgaria, and Greece.
