At the age of 6, Johnny captured his first song on his mom’s legal pad, plucking out notes on an old guitar with missing strings.
He’s been chasing the perfect song since that day, and like any proper adventure there were detours along the way. From Gershwin to bluegrass, Guthrie to Hiatt, Johnny just follows the song where ever it may lead.
As a performer, he has travelled across Michigan and Ontario in many different bands and as a solo artist. The Johnny Guest Trio is the perfect vehicle to keep the show on the road, and they are on pace to play 75+ shows in 2024.
Johnny’s down to earth, relatable dialogue with his audience means they meet as strangers and leave as friends. His original songs and story telling are perfect for an intimate audience, and his classic country/rock/80’s/90’s are just right for a good time.
Johnny’s 3rd release is a 4 song EP titled Someplace Called Free and it captures a yearning for better days, freedom, and healing. A full album is on the table for the near future, with help from producer Ken Royster in Nashville.
