For more than four decades, Lansing’s Powerlight Band has been bringing the soulful sounds of The Collective brings the sound of Motown to life with a seasoned group of Lansing musicians who share a deep appreciation for the soul, R&B and timeless songs that came out of Detroit in the 1960s. Their performances celebrate the music that shaped generations, from the smooth grooves and powerful vocals of classic Motown to the dance-floor energy of ’60s soul. A longtime presence on the Lansing music scene, The Collective has performed throughout the area, including recurring Motown shows at UrbanBeat and appearances in local summer concert series.
